Companionship and Respite Care provides short-term care and supervision consistent with the health needs of the individual to supplement existing care, to provide a safe living environment, and to support or relieve the burden of the caregiver. The purpose of Respite Care is to provide protection and safety, social, emotional and physical needs of the individual needing care. This can include supervision of self-administered medication, food, and supervision of the individual's activities of daily living including activities such as bathing, dressing, eating and toileting. It also includes companionship, entertainment, such as games, puzzles, and social engagement.
